this is some of my fractals and backgrounds that ive made.

I use the GIMP.

I really like the first one. I find that fractals with a black BG are easier to use since you can put them on lighten.

Great emptiness in them .. I never knew they could be made with the gimp. I use a program called FractalForge, it yields stuff like this .

thats the mandlebot set, right?

its really easy to use the GIMP - open up a new doc, specify the dimensions, in the new window click filters>render>nature>flame

after that just muck around and get to grips with it! smile.gif

I didn't know rendering was fractal making .. I guess I don't really understand what fractals are .. I'm used to them looking like this :

i used to use a similar program as you ChinUp, but i found that the results were always too...sharp for my liking.

yes, I always believed them to be based on recursive mathematical formulae.

still, regardless of what they are called I always have some jealousy towards those with an artistic talent.
