Hi, sorry for the newbie question, but I have only used the following clients with torrents:

Bitlord
µTorrent

Does anyone have a recommendation on a client that is more reliable and has the ability to do faster downloads?

Thanks in advance,

Sea

Avoid bitlord like the plague.

Set uTorrent up right (follow their guides) to get the best speeds.

utorrent is the best in my point of view. U dowload it and directly use it. No install. Then written in C++, no java.

Azureus is the good one if u want to administrate it remotely. A lot of plugins. But Java ...

I use Azureus, since it seems to be the best client for OS X. On Linux I used to prefer bittornado, since it can be run headless (i.e. without a GUI). On Windows uTorrent seems like a good choice.

Personally uTorrent is about the best most well liked all around client! I've used bitcomet, bittoranado, abc, plus a few others. So I'd say in ny opinion uTorrent is the way to go. Its one of the smallest clients there is (ie. filesize). You won't get banned as easily using it on private trackers and it got an easy to use interface. applaud.gif

uTorrent is still the client to beat, in my opinion. Smallest memory footprint and nice GUI too, but I'm wondering why BitComet has the same GUI as uTorrent. Hmmmm.....GUI piracy?

BitComet has different GUI

well uTorrent is a must have client since I have not seen it being band on any site. try 1.61 or 1.77 (BitTorrent is the same one I guess).
BitComet 0.70 is a very good one I like it works just perfect.
Azureus? I have never tried it but must be a good one.

I like Azeureus/vuze on the Mac. It's a bit resource hungry but it's easy to use and you can pick and choose which files you want from a torrent, very handy for discographies or TV series where you've already got some episodes.
