Number of downloads: 0Most sausages (bangers) are made from mechanically recovered meat . This consists of treated fat & flesh fragments blown off bones and washed from brain , hoofs etc compounded into a cheap meat like product. At present meat includes fat (up to half of the meat can be fat), connective tissue (skin rind and gristle) and mechanically recovered meat, known as MRM. MRM is a pulp which is produced in abattoirs when high-powered jets of water are sprayed on animal carcasses after all the decent cuts of meat have been rendered. Surely you must have seen that show about this guy setting out to make the most disgusting sausage in Britain? Ever since I stopped eating sausages and pink coloured ham too, cuz in the show a butcher firmly said he would never ever touch any supermarket ham in his life. And he should know what's he taking about. Reformed meat and mechanically recovered 65% meat 35% bread doesnt sound too bad really until you see what the meat is. So every now and then I buy Spanish ham instead, which doesn't taste anything like 'normal' supermarket ham at all...kinda miss it really. For breakfast I usually go to a small foodstand outside with wobbly tables in front of the busstop and have Cold Noodles in spicy sauce, with eggs and slices of pear on top. hmmm,

I remember eating these bean paste, round cakes (Hobbang?) in Korea. It's so fun to walk around the streets of Korea eating something that tastes so good. One of my fond memories.
