Obviously it's a once in a while brekky

It's not really a recipe but a collection of fried food

The main ingredients

Thick pork sausages....sometimes beef but not usually

Thick cut Back bacon...sometimes streaky but not usually

fried egg

This is where the ingredients change from an English fry, an ulster fry contains traditional N Irish Bread.

a quarter Soda farl (farl means 4) cut in half hard to to explain so Attached File  QX11K6CARE5ZZUCAE2GAQYCA0BXMY4CA2HMKUUCAJBSG16CAIMUO4PCA2STI8KCA8M0NJTCAWSNFNJCAON85TWCAMQW5OLCAKYDYU2CANHIZ0KCAKHV3YCCAHJTZBZCACCT091CAXJROEMCAMKE3I4.jpg ( 2.35K ) Number of downloads: 0
1 quarter piece cut through it's widest section leaving two pieces the same size as the original quarter but half as thick, so the middle can be placed face down in the pan of fat or oil soda farl use the finest, sofest, flour, soda bread should be soft with a stodgy texture...we have soda bread flour here just for the job... Traditionally flour from this far north was a lower grade soft flour and didn't rise like stronger flour from farther south and necessity being the mother of invention we got soda bread . Beautiful buttered just fresh off the griddle or great for sandwich snacks as well.

Soda bread is different from soda farls if you google it you'll see what I mean

Pototo bread potato bread

And of course all cooked in lard for the best flavour, I did say it was an occasional treat, although you can use veg oil not olive oil it changes the flavour of the bread too much

Most big supermarket chains in the UK now stock potato farls but I haven't seen potato bread in england

some people add beans, mushrooms, tomato? Black and white pudding according to taste but the above ingredients are the only traditional ones...
