yeah VLC when i play a video if i skip just once to another part of the film it just stops and i have to start form the beginning again
 so any other player out there that is better than VLC would be awesome please ! Thanks |

Maybe you have an older version of vlc. I have no problem seeking in mkvs in neither linux nor windoze. Current version is 0.8.6 afaik.

I use FLV Player 2.0 and it does exactly what it says on the tin.
