I'm having trouble with a torrent in Azureus. I get the following message when I try and open the torrent file.
"The destination directory 'C:\*thefolderI'msavingthefilein*\thetorrenti'mtryingtoopen.file' for torrent 'Randomtorrentfile' does not exist or is invalid" This is the second time in the almost year I've been using Azureus that this has happened. The first time I just said the heck with it and didn't try and download the file. This time I really want the file and would like to fix this. I'll hug a kitten (or kick it if you prefer) for whoever can help me out with this. |

I just started using Azureus because uTorrent stopped working for me.
I reinstalled Windows XP SP3 and then reinstalled every version of uTorrent, but the trackers disappeared after 30 minutes. Reluctantly, I tried Azureus. It did the same thing to me: telling me the directory didn't exist, or that a file was too long or invalid. The code lacks the ability to fix problems it encounters, and gives ambiguous and incomplete feedback. I ended up deleting all my torrent files (the torrents, not the data) and reinstalling them, but two were toast, so I had to delete the data, which had taken three and five days to get to 30% and 70%. Then, Azureus crashed, and when I restarted it, it crased my computer five times in a row. I don't think this is a good torrent client. It is written in Java, which is a lazy and cumbersome language, and its Microsoft-like web crap is annoying as hell! There's no way to turn off the annoying and resource-eating Dashboard, On Vuze, and Library panels. I'm going to try Deluge, I think. It's unstable, but I'm desperate now. Good luck. Sorry I can't help you. |
