What camera equipment do you own?
Here's an idea for a new thread. I know there's a few people here who do photography, but most people own a compact camera of some sort, so post whatever you own in this thread (You don't need to post pics of them if you don't want to lol). I've recently purchased this lot. Canon EOS 40D Body ![]() Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens ![]() Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.5-6 IS Lens

Nothing at all
used to have a cheap and nasty 3.2MP digital camera but i sold it as i rarely used it. altho the lack of use was probably due to the camera being pretty rubbish tbh. |

A nice little Casio QV-R52, not the best but not the worst either. It produces some really nice pictures to my untrained eye but by god I would like some of the camera's in this thread.
Edit: Cos i can't spell Extra Edit: Bloody hell I cant belive the cost for those camera's... I take it you like taking photo's. This post has been edited by Siris10: Jun 11 2008, 08:16 PM

Extra Edit: Bloody hell I cant belive the cost for those camera's... I take it you like taking photo's. I use my camera for work I'm a semi professional photographer, events, weddings etc so they pay for the equipment... You can pick up a nikon D70 (semi pro camera) for under £250 body only second hand on ebay.... The D40 has been replaced by the D60 Both these cameras are exellent entry level cameras the D40 entry level SLR is a steal at 250.... Canon olympus sony all have their own versions ... Canon and Nikon are the market leaders leapfrogging each other in healthy competition... Canon tend to be smaller and lighter easier to carry they also tend to have more in camera editing features (cropping, black and white facility, red eye reduction etc)...Nikon tend to be bigger, heavier and more sturdy lending themselves to more stable shots, handy if you've got shaky hands... A GOOD compact will cost 200 for an extra 50 pounds you could have an entry level SLR by one of the market leaders... Most photographers have a favourite in the Nikon/Canon debate the truth is they're both exellent kit and the one you buy first is the one you stick with because all your kit (Flashes, lenses, etc) matches one particular brand... You can see some of my shots here This post has been edited by bigbaldybloke: Jun 12 2008, 10:18 AM |

I have a Nikon D80 with an 18-135mm lens which I use for product shots. I couldn't ask for better image quality although i'm sure there is. at 10.2 MP it's more than adequate. Love the 18-135 as well great versatility.
Sorry for the second post??? i'm definitely a noober NP. double post deleted ~ torrenter This post has been edited by torrenter: Jun 19 2008, 06:20 PM

Nice thread
Bought a while back a Panasonic FZ50 which is great... ...compact, easy to use with a super zoooooom (which is a little bit shorter than the newer super zooooooooms Movie mode - well the list goes on. Brill Then got myself a Panasonic L10. It's good but not brilliant - nothing wrong with quality, just that poor viewfinder! It's useable, quick and has the flip out screen and live view contrast focus However, Live View on DSLR's is only really of use in Macro or Still Life... IMHO Then got myself the Olympus e-510. The camera I should have got over the L10... ...Well I would have got the e-520! The e-3 is on my wish list but those Nikon's are very sweet. Too big for my dainty hands though. The New Mini Four THirds system look interresting. Live view, no optical view finder and interchanable lenses... ...Looking forward to that

I got the Sony HDR-HC7 hi def videocamera last February, and the 5.1Mpx stills are very good. It has a Carl Zeiss lens with a decent optical zoom and optical IS.
If I didn't have the Canon, this would be my main stills camera. <Sorry havn't got an image from an approved source to show> This post has been edited by torrenter: Sep 1 2008, 08:05 PM |
