this is some of my fractals and backgrounds that ive made.
I use the GIMP. so...uhhhh...yeah - i hope you like! feel free to use them! i have a small folder of them, so if anyone would like any more, just send me a pm or something!

I really like the first one. I find that fractals with a black BG are easier to use since you can put them on lighten.

Great emptiness in them .. I never knew they could be made with the gimp. I use a program called FractalForge, it yields stuff like this .

thats the mandlebot set, right?
its really easy to use the GIMP - open up a new doc, specify the dimensions, in the new window click filters>render>nature>flame after that just muck around and get to grips with it!

i used to use a similar program as you ChinUp, but i found that the results were always too...sharp for my liking.
