Mitsubishi’s LaserVue Laser TV harnesses the power of the world’s purest light source to deliver two times the color of many of today’s HDTVs. Laser beams provide an extensive range of rich, complex colors, truly distinct clarity, and immerse depth of field. LaserVue sets the new standard for large screen television by delivering unimaginable color at approximately one third the operating power consumption of similarly-sized LCD TVs and one fourth of plasmas. LaserVue also comes equipped with 3D-ready viewing technology. Most importantly, it has been confirmed that two models will first be released in 65in and 73in sizes.
Efficient and as sharp as 1080p can get, its also 3D capable right out of the box. The Mitsubishi LaserVue TV uses lasers to display crisp visual reproductions of your TV, movies and video games. This rear projection model is likely too thick to be wall mounted (at 10″ deep), but that space allows for this laser technology that wouldn’t fit into a conventional flat panel. The price has not yet been released, but you can expect to pay a premium for these two new and incredible TV technologies: laser-precision and 3D capability. Haven’t we been expecting this since we were kids?

Maybe there will be a decent alternative to a HD beamer when my current lamp dies and I'll need do dish out €350 for a replacement.
And indeed holographic projection for the living room is something that was dreamed of/expected/ announced within 10 years for the last 30. |
