Making a 1:1 copy of a game

Well..first off..just so everyone knows..i've never made a guide before..(Enless you count the clonyxxl language thinger..>:P)
If anyone has any questions..go ahead and ask..i'll be happy to try and anwser..
Also if anyone notices any screw ups..tell me. =)

*A game can take up to 800 or so MB of hard drive space.*
*If your game has SafeDisc it'll get errors up untill around 11000. Don't worry about it.*
*This may not work with really really new games.*

Software Needed
-Alcohol 120%
-ClonyXXL
-Alcoholer
(You'll also need a ASPI driver google for ForceASPI if you don't have one:P)

Make sure that you've got ClonyXXL and Alcoholer in the same folder.
Also follow the instuctions in the ClonyXXL thread.

Step one.
Install everything..ClonyXXL/Alcoholer don't have any installer per say..so just unzip them both to the same folder and run them..(Make sure you follow the instructions on the ClonyXXL page.)
Be warned though..when you install Alcoholer/run it you'll have another CD-Rom in your my computer thinger..thats a virtual drive and how you'll run them off
your Hard drive. =)

Now that you've got everything installed load clonyXXL.
Go through the instuctions on the other thread..
Then you'll have everything set up and in English.
It should look like this.



Now..click on scan options.
You should see this..



Untick look for defective sectors.
Tick Scan Harddrive for copy protection too and Scan for dummyfiles.
It should look like it does above. ;P

This step is if you want Alcoholer to load up right away after its done scanning.
Click options/tools
Should look like this..



Then click on Edit User Tools
Should look like below..;P



Click on "Tool 1 new"
You should see this (May not be exactly this..don't worry...just go and find alcoholer )



After you've selected Alcoholer go to 'After Scan"
Should look like this..



Click on "Start tool 1 [Alcoholer.exe]
Now when it is done scanning it'll automaticly start up Alcoholer.

Now that we've got all that out of the way put in the game that you want to copy.
Then click on "Scan CD"
Give it a few seconds....it might seem like its frozen up..if its been more then five minutes it probably has..or maybe you forgot to turn off scan for defective sectors.
If it doesn't detect any copy protection it'll ask for the directory that the game is installed in.
This is because sometimes they encypt files blah blah it explains it in the Scan Options. Just show it to the directory.

Now Alcoholer will pop up. (If you made it run afterwards that is. If not just run it..MAKE SURE ITS IN THE SAME FOLDER AS CLONYXXL!!)
It'll look like this. (It might not say SafeDisc v1 .. it all depends on how your game is protected.)



Click on the button that says "Start Alcohol 120%"

Alcohol 120% will pop up..most likely looking like this. (Minus all the device stuff.)



Click on Image Making Wizard..
This window will come up..



Make sure that the datatype is Alcoholer. [Circled in red.] (It'll be at the start of the list..alphabetical order..;P)

Click Next once you've selected Alcoholer. (Also make sure the drive with your game in it is selected..)

After that just choose where you want the Image to be placed. (An Image is pretty much just the Disc on your hard drive.)

Then click start.

It'll start to turn the disc into an image. Once again if you've got safedisc you'll get errors untill about 11000 or so.

You'll have two files in whatever place you chose to put the image.
You'll need both of them so don't delete either.

Go into my computer then find the CD-Rom drive that Alcohol 120%
Right click it
Click on "Mount Image"
Click on "Open"
Find the folder that you put it in.
Click on the game.
It'll load up like a normal CD.
Now you can play games off your harddrive.

If you'd like to copy them..just go into alcohol .. click on burning image wizard.
Then just follow those steps and you should have a copy you can play right off the disc..
You could also just use the copy wizard..just make sure the datatype is alcoholer.

(This may not work with really really new games.)
