The bat stumbled into the cave, wings flapping feebly. He barely makes it to his perch, where he clings desperately, blood pouring down his wings.
*sniff sniff* The bat at the perch next door sniffs. *Is that blood I smell? Blood?* The bat next to him sniffs. *Blood? Who has the blood?* *Where did he get blood? I haven't found blood in days!* Soon the entire cave is flapping around our friend. *Where'd you get the blood? Huh? Huh? Where'd the blood come from?* *BLOOD!* Our bat friend extends his tired wings and asks... *You want to see where I got the blood? Okay. Come on.* Our friend flies out of the cave. Flap flap flap. Down the mountain. Flap flap flap. Over the river. Flap flap flap. Skirts the lake. Flap flap flap. Through the fields. Flap flap flap. To the edge of the forest. Flap flap flap. *Do you see that tree?* *Yes! Oh yes! We see the tree! The tree right there!* *I didn't.* |
