You know moderating is difficult work, you can't let your personal views get in the way nor your personal "interpretations" of the rules, I personally wouldn't want the job, I can't see myself as being impartial enough to do it.

What you have to bear in mind, is that all moderation on FS (which is limited by strict guidelines in the staff rules) has to be reported in the staff sections and is itself subject to appraisal and critique etc by other staffers and the reds. Self serving moderation was never something an LPP mod would get away with for long, and was thankfully something that most LPP mods over the years were not accused of too often. As for me.... well, nobody's perfect, but I like to think I come pretty close.  |

The toughest thing about being a mod (at least for me,) regardless of the thread, is trying to not let my personal feelings direct my actions. There are so many times I just want to do or say something but I bite my lip and think twice about it because I am expected to be impartial or acting in the best interests of Filesoup. If YMG became a mod in LPP again, he would be more than welcome because I never got the impression that I had to watch what I said for fear of being banned if my views differed from his. I actually went through that on a local board in my state and that board didn't have many active posters for long because the "owner" made it clear it was his board and if you didn't like it you could leave. They did.
