i goit my motorcycle licence the other day.
i bought a motorbike about 2 weeks before that and picked it up last week. I only did 4 days of riding before sitting my test so i was pleased about that. now i just have to get some experience. heres a picture of a motorbike the same as mine. ![]() thats an 06 model mine is an 07 the only real difference i can see is that mine has chrome behind the dials and headlight and also on the mirror stands instead of black. also mines a much nicer red it was the perfect replacement for a girlfriend, its so nice to ride on long trips or short. at the same time i bought this bike my dad bought his 3rd currently he has a VTX 1300 Retro, a VFR 400 which needs a bit of work doing on it and his new one an 07 CBR1100 xx blackbird the blackbird is the second fastest production bike, just a bit slower than the suzuki hayabusa. The blackbird is speed limiter to 290km/h and we know that it goes 222km/h with two of us on the back |

My mate had a blackbird he said you just arrived everywhere with a smile on yer face. He has a Ural now and it gets more interest that the Blackbird ever did.

Congrats 02keilj! Only four days of riding before your test is pretty good.
I didn't see what kind of bike you finally decided on. It looks like a fun ride. |

LOL at the ural thats a classic. yeah on teh blackbird its so hard to keep a smile off your face, from teh second we uncover it to the second its coved we are just grinning. Im loving the whole 'open and free' feel of riding already and found a motorcycle club in perth which is 3 hours from where i live that have meets quite often so it will be good to get together with other riders |

Hey congrats on that!
Can imagine that it's a pretty cool feeling to ride a motorcycle, especially in spring/summer! Kinda feeling I get from riding my roadracing bike - only with more speed and less sweat as I would imagine. Just don't get yourself hurt! Safety first! |

QUOTE Just don't get yourself hurt! Safety first! Yeah big boy have fun, but it's hard to ride a bike from a hospital bed. Good tip never pull out from a junction till you make eye contact with the approaching driver make sure he's seen you.. |

Good tip never pull out from a junction till you make eye contact with the approaching driver make sure he's seen you.. yeah ive been told the eye contact rule. Where i am this week is out in the sticks so to speak and people are rather careless drivers so it has come in handy a few times. Defenatly safety first, i still need a proper riding jacket and boots which i am shopping for in the next week when i go to the city |

Congrats mate. Have fun and be careful. 220 is pretty impressive innit? Drove through Germany @ +-240, which is pretty rough on a naked bike

Congrats mate. Have fun and be careful. 220 is pretty impressive innit? Drove through Germany @ +-240, which is pretty rough on a naked bike it was a great feeling. We want a better road before we go much faster. Also that was riding at 110km/h for a bit then accelerating while still in top gear. we can get to 190 in 3rd gear so quick. We might try again from a stand still start. ill let you know how it goes. |
