Thanks to Thatcher I have just opened my own store, www.quicklime.co.uk

When they bury her, can anyone arrange for the devil spawn child Mark, to fall in the same hole?

For anyone thinking it was Thatcher that got her into office, you should do some research on Airey Neave, it was virtually all down to him, that's why the IRA blew him up, because they knew it would wind thatcher up no end.

It seems every half generation citizens forget the diabolical downside of conservative governments - we just got rid of ours and I expect one or two more before I die. They always cost lives and destroy convention - they are the true anarchists.

Maggie will get a State funeral. But I believe if someone constructs a State Catapult in time, then public opinion may well be moved into using it. smile.gif

Where would you aim it?

Plead Oz ignorance - isn't that little bit of turf about to or has changed "sovereignty" ?

Also, if you can fling a carcase more than about 50 clicks - we are talking space. So would use a shot that could hurt even more others in France? Or perhaps benefit from it in some scientific way - say....High School exp. - 50kg propelled at x km/hr will alter the ISS orbit by x degrees. - your call on future experiments.

Well, I think that's kind of the point pink. Once she's dead it's a fait accompli.

haha, just kind of took a look at this thread to see if anyone would actually admit to liking maggie. I guess there's always a few. Hell, some people actually supported that murderer Pinochet. Not to mention Bush supporters. Anyway, one of the worst historical periods ever, the reagan/thatcher years, (worse than bush/blair) but it did provide the world with a LOT of good music, good Crass lyrics MichaelKVegfruit, here's is what pops to my mind everytime I think of that cow:

Twenty five quid to live on Seven days a week to survive Five and twenty pictures of the queen You won't see the starvation in her eyes Twenty five quid to dish out And you're already ten in debt So with fifteen singles left over The landlord gets the rent
MAGGIE, MAGGIE YOU CUNT MAGGIE, MAGGIE YOU CUNT MAGGIE, MAGGIE YOU CUNT MAGGIE MAGGIE MAGGIE MAGGIE YOU FUCKING CUNT
Twenty five reasons for trouble Three million mouths to feed They're destroying your mind and body While they increase their own needs Twenty five quid of insult Two meals soon kills your health They want to see you suffer They want to see you dead

THE Exploited.

I love the chorus. I think a fit anthem for the catapult launch party. It may also give a clue as to what may catch the wind once impelled upwards - should we plastic wrap Maggie to gain some aerodynamic integrity, it wouldn't be appropriate to have her break up over head too early on.

Margret Thatcher was the first and only female prime minister...Of course she deserves a state funeral she was voted into power by the majority of the electorate who voted for 11 years... The scum who sang such anthems as listed above were unemployed because they chose to be...Wasters who demanded support from a government they claimed to hate although allowed them to live without working...

A lot of my friends were kings road punks living on 500 to 600 pounds a week state benefits under various names and addresses...

She stood up to the IRA, encouraged small businesses, home ownership, defended British soil, and smashed the unions that were crippling Great Briton. She took Briton from a disheveled 70's nightmare to a prosperous 80's .. She was one of the greatest Britons of all, passionate and hard working for her country .. The present labour government has been more detrimental to the working class man than Maggie ever was.... Gorden bastard Brown is a evil tax collector screwing the poor to feed the rich. Billionaires pay 1% tax why do I pay 24% just to feed the pregnant 16 year old with her smack addicted boyfriend....

I will travel to London with a Union Jack draped around my shoulders in memory of a truly great person, to honor all she was...

The poll tax was stupid and every prime minister makes mistakes Tony Dickhead Blair and the half billion of tax payers money millenium Dome that no one wanted.... the NEW Labour/conservative in sheeps clothing has strangled the ability of small businesses to function with stealth taxes.....

Finding the £500-600 a week in benefits hard to believe. No, I'm finding it impossible to believe. Be that as it may, the fact that you knew a few cunts in no way proves that Thatcher wasn't one. I believe all your other arguments have been disputed previously in the thread but to recap the salient points:

First Woman Prime Minister: made life more difficult for single mothers and women in general in any number of ways

Helped Small Businesses: go out of business

Defended British soil: cynically killed a few thousand people over a geographic anomaly in order to be re-elected.

Threw working miners into unemployment, they wanted to work for a decent working wage.

The economic and social damage done to the UK by Thatcher and all her cronies is incalculable.

And if you begrudge supporting other people in society through taxation because you think the rich should be taxed more why are you prepared to have £3million spunked on a State Funeral for someone who could probably pay that for own funeral without endangering her half-wit children's inheritance?

Make sense, man.

No its sounds like angry socialist shit, man....... and I'm not lying about the benefits a ploy at the time was the hotel con live in a hotel for a couple of nights get receipts then leave. The benefits office still paid the check... Once the hotels realised this they insisted the checks be mailed to them... A quick trip to the post office to get the mail redirected sorted that out... this was only one of many ways to buck the system....

they spent more time on strike than they did working.....

I'd rather tax payers money went to someone who had contributed financially to society rather than dead beats whose only goal in life is to spawn more brats to claim more benifits...

Just because they've been disputed doesn't mean I don't have the right to voice them again...IMO
I was under the apprehension that the idea of this forum was to voice ones opinion.... And recapping the salient points doesn't mean they're right....

People who voted against her now concede that she transformed the way Britain felt about itself - above all, by the sale of council houses and the spread of share ownership, initiatives that widened working-class horizons more dramatically than decades of socialist state planning.

The genie, fortunately, cannot be put back in the bottle. The entrepreneurial spirit nurtured by Lady Thatcher is still a feature of our collective identity, which is why people now feel so frustrated by the nannying, spendthrift policies of this Government, and the shortage of imagination on the Opposition benches. The Conservatives may not endorse Labour's economic policies, but they have the same spending targets and display a Blairite preoccupation with image.

They are in danger of forgetting that Lady Thatcher was always ready to pay the price of personal unpopularity in order to sort things out. In troubled times, charm is an optional extra for politicians; common sense and raw courage are not. We ask, once again: where is the Margaret Thatcher for the 21st century? source

Great... so she sells off the council houses to buy votes and here we are some two decades later with a housing crisis and working people providing essential services unable to aford housing. Nice job Maggie.

Seems to me that you are only assessing the short term effects of her policies and only looking at her longer term reputation amongst the partisan Thatcherite press.

Quoting a Telegraph editorial at me? Get to fuck.
