Heres a very simple, but tasty, way to have your green beans:
Ingreedients: 1 Red onion Virgin olive oil Pinch of Salt Good quality balsamic vinegar Garlic (1 - 2 cloves) Green beans Method: Simply fry the chopped onion in the olive oil (a few tablespoons) until softened, at the same time blanch the trimmed beans in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic and a good glug of the balsamic vinegar to the onion and let it sizzle on a high heat for about 30 seconds. When slightly thickened add the beans and salt and give it a quick toss. Simple! Hope you enjoy! |

I enjoyed this, but extra virgin olive oil is a bit of a waste, ordinary olive oil is fine as Extra virgin looses it's distinctive flavour when heated anyway...So just use EV for salads and dipping, anything uncooked.... I also added a knob of butter just prior to serving to slightly thicken and glaze the sauce with a little ground black pepper too ....Cheers...
