need advice regarding download speeds
current isp is virgin media but moving home 31 oct to a non cable area made enquiries to BT about having phone line installed and enquired with a few isp's about broadband but based on location of new house and it's distance from local exchange my estimated download speed is 0.5 Mbps based on this download speed will i still be able to run the following 2 laptops, family computer and the download computer how long will it take to download a tv episode, a divx movie and a dvd movie? thanks |

Your speed will be a very low 64KB/s, unfortunately
Most websites are only a couple hundred kilobytes, so those shouldn't be too much of a problem, but sites with lots of large images will be very slow. Downloading will have to be done when nobody is browsing -- a 350MB TV episode will take 90 minutes at maximum downloadspeed. |
