Ok, lol, so here goes.
I recently had a heap of problems with my PC but all are fixed now as I've installed a totally fresh OS on a separate drive and done a full wipe. There is however one problem that persists...my clock. It's not a massively important thing, I do have a wall clock, a cell phone and more than one watch, but there it is. Whenever I turn on my PC in the morning I can expect it to have lost several hours since the night before. This morning for instance about 10 minutes ago, I turn on my pc and it says 7:55, I clearly know that's not right so I click to update with internet time and it clicks over to 1058. I'd fully let this go, as it doesn't seem major, but I'm concerned it may be a symptom of something more serious...that and I can't set my torrents to start and stop automatically on time if my computer can't remember the bloody time! Please help me lol. |

Sounds like it is time for a new CMOS battery on the motherboard.
Just open the case and look for the big watch battery. Alternatively you could just leave the PC turned on. |

Nope, while the PC is off, it shouldn't cause you any trouble at all.
Have a look at this article, see if it helps. |

Your bios might reset to default values. Just make sure you don't touch the battery with your bare fingers (it gets dirty and works badly after that)
