My problem is fairly straightforward. I formatted my PC and decided to skip Nero this time around and instead use Roxio because it can convert DVDs to more than just one proprietary digital format.
I always used Nero Showtime to play back DVDs, so naturally I wanted to use the Roxio Cineplayer now, but for some reason all DVDs I try to play are pixelated all to hell. The same DVDs play back fine using WMP, MPC and VLC... just not with Roxio. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could try to solve this problem? The Roxio support chat turned out to be a bot, their knowledge base is not very knowledgeable and I other places I'm registered at aren't the best places to ask for tech advice. Any help would be, by me, greatly appreciated |

1 possibility could be the fact you have recently re-installed windows and now need to update your installed codecs if roxio is using system codecs.
2 its possible roxio is using its own internal codecs and roxio needs to be updated as you have just re-installed roxio. hope this helps (I use the CCCP codec pack and have no probs with any of these programs) This post has been edited by mt5054: Oct 10 2008, 03:44 PM |

After I turned it off everything looks normal... why CinePlayer doesn't like my hardware acceleration is beyond me though. I've got the newest drivers for everything, and the player was up to date as well. Ah, whatever. I works for now, that's good enough for me |
