I have just got a 1 gig usb intenet i need to know what it basically is as i live in spain and am not sure what it is all about.
If i download a file of 700 meg will that leave me with only 300 meg left to play with if so then its no good as a normal connection is the same price here in spain but at the moment i cant get on line any other way. Thanx |

As far as I understand it M8 yes you will only have 300mb left, you can go over your 1gb but the cost that is involved is
somewhat on the high side because you are then charged per mb you download. *btw, moving this to technical help* |

Might be one of the deals we now have in the UK, where you getting a modem on a USB key, which you then connect to the web using the Mobile Phone network masts. Download speeds are upto about 3.6 mbps, upload...er forget it...and you have bandwidth limits as well.

its handy to have for the laptop. If you want to get maximium browsing, turn off anything that updates(find a free wifi connection somewhere (coffee place/fast food/library)and use that for all your updating time).
Turn off pictures in the browser. Set your email to upload /download only when you tell it to or switch to online mail like yahoo. I haven't tried it for torrenting but I dont think it would be worth it unless you are only downloading small files. |

Sorry i have'nt posted back yet and yes it is with a phone provider and its 3.5G and not 1.
I downloaded my first torrents last night 900 meg down in less than 4 hours. Awsome but it is dam more expensive way of doing it.The only reason i have this is because we are having problems with broadband. Thanx |
