Ok, my problem is explained pretty well up there. Everytime I goto youtube to play a clip it begins to load, plays for a second then my browser crashes out. It does this the same for both mozilla and IE. Now I've done a fair bit of searching both on youtube and the web in general, and pretty much the best and only advice I've been able to find consists of two different things, #1 flash, Either I don't have it or I need to uninstall and reinstall it, #2 activex, either I don't have it or I need to uninstall then reinstall it. Well I have uninstalled and reinstalled over and over lol. No changes.
Now I believe that if either of those problems were the video would simply not load...and probably not crash my browser. The important thing to note here is that the video DOES play. For a mere second or two, but it does go...so clearly it's something a bit different...but it seems youtube can't help me lol. Now if I go somewhere like say, http://www.videojug.com which is more of a help/advice/humor video site, all the videos play just fine. So it's safe to say I'm at a loss. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Also, I've included my error report from mozilla, incase that helps. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Flash player using the program found here. Sometimes when you uninstall Flash the conventional way it still leaves remnants behind.

I had the same problem for ages with FF. At the time Chrome wouldn't play Youtube videos however, it does now. Give Chrome a try. You likely won't go back to FF or IE.

If your windows install is pretty old ,ie a year or more ,then maybe there's that much crap on the HD thats not been removed correctly and likely 100s of reg entries that are not deleted.
try updating with the latest windows updates etc ,probably a format and fresh install of the OS would fix it ,but is probably a bit extreme simply to watch videos on youtube. |

lol my os install and updates are less than 3 weeks old lol. My old os was getting so chock full of crap that I couldn't clean out I just installed a fresh XP on a new harddrive and am running off that...so I doubt that'd be a problem...

Did you install all the motherboard chipset and video card drivers?
If its raid did you install the raid drivers? Another thing worth checking is the memory. I'd get a copy of memtest86 and run that. Memory errors can cause all kinds of crashes especially during high work load. http://www.memtest.org/ Also since your saying you used a new hard drive, it could be possible that now your power supply can't handle everything. Maybe the new hard drive is bad. Maybe the connections are not secure. Maybe you knocked something else loose or shorted something out changing hard drives. Firefox doesn't store shit in your register. Try removing the firefox profile folder ( or start with a new profile and import your bookmarks afterwards). It tends to solve problems. The option to start with the profile manager is somewhere in your start menu.

well I figured it out...lol. I've been constantly running Teamspeak 2 cause I can't be bothered typing to people if I can avoid it lol, and it seems that for some reason that interfered with streaming video. Ah well. Problem solved lol.
